Sounak Das is currently studying for a MA in Visual Arts and Post-Contemporary practice at Masters Institute of Visual Cultures, Avans University of Applied Sciences in the Netherlands. He is an Alumni of Pathshala South Asian Media Institute, Bangladesh. Driven by science and philosophy and a desire to investigate meta-physics, he explores the experimental use of media and technology in art, juxtaposing the friction between human-machine-nature relation in the techno-centric age. His artistic practice navigates around the peripheral of glitch, as a methodology to bend a medium from the ordinary to the sublime. As a multi-media artist, SD predominantly uses photography, moving images, sound and installation. A story-teller by heart and an inquisitive thinker by mind, SD observes the lingering cultural landscapes and elements of urban life as a flaneur, embodying community, cultural dilemma, spatial context, history and the advancement and impact of technology in today’s Anthropocene age.
